New generation of plates

A demonstration mining tipper has left the new assembly hall building of KH-KIPPER around the end of this year. The vehicle was ordered by a client for tests in European open-pit mines. A new generation of wear-resistant plate – Hardox 500 Tuf – was used for the production of the W1MV body.

The Hardox 500 Tuf wear-resistant plate is the latest product of the Hardox
family – a wear‑resistant plate that is simultaneously strong, extremely hard and resistant to impacts. Hardox 500 Tuf combines the best properties of Hardox 450 and Hardox 500 to create the best wear-resistant plate on the market.

At the moment, both the floor and the sides of W1MV bodies are made of HARDOX 450 steel. In the future, the manufacturer intends to increase the share of HARDOX 500 steel in its bodies, particularly where required due to difficult operating conditions, to extend the service life of the vehicles.

The tipper has been equipped with the robust HYVA FC hydraulic cylinder for quick unloading, which is extremely important in repetitive unloading cycles. The HYVA SMART cloud-based monitoring system improves performance and safety, providing the driver with real-time data.
